Samsung show’s off their curves with the Note Edge! In the last year or so you may have seen or heard news surrounding the future of curved displays. The concept is slowly making its way into our living rooms and is gaining a bit of momentum to find itself in your pockets! Keep in mind the curved glass found in devices like the LG G Flex is a bit different then a curved display and Samsung has launched the first truly curved display smart phone. The Note Edge is here and may give you a new perspective on how a smart phone should operate!

Yesterday Samsung took to a stage at IFA and announced their long awaited Note 4. The company however, did not stop there and went on to announce the unicorn curved smart phone known as the Note Edge. As you may have been able to surmise by the name has one edge that curves back into the device. This functional, touchable edge will serve as a unique look into the future for other manufacturers but for end users this will provide some rather excellent new ways to use otherwise useless space. The bar of information is swipe-able and customizable with app icons and ‘widget’ style information at a glance. Spec’s wise the Note Edge is very much a Note 4. The screen with curved portion included comes with a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED touch screen display that offers up a 1440×2560 resolution at 525 pixels per inch. Underneath the hood we find a Qualcomm made Snapdragon system chip that runs with a quad core 2.7 GHz processor, internal GPU, 3 GB of Ram, 64 GB of internal storage and expandable micro SD memory option capable of up to an additional 64 GB. Powering this beast is a 3000 mAh battery and the likes of Android version 4.4. The camera around back of the Note Edge uses a 16 mega pixel sensor and comes with an LED flash with 4K video recording capabilities. Up front the handset uses a 3.7 mega pixel camera for all its front facing pictures. Additionally the handset sports GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, MHL and micro USB connectivity. The Note Edge is expected to begin its official roll out sometime in October and carriers here stateside like T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and At&t have all stated they will carry the device at launch!
